The town of Fafe is a 14,000 citizen commune located in the municipality of the same name, about 10kms to the east of Guimaraes, in the northern reaches of Portugal. The town is only a few hundred metres to the north of the A7 highway, which spans the northern region of the country, making it easy for travellers to find their way to Fafe via car or bus. There are a large number of Fafe hotels found in the centre of town. These establishments are generally found close to major civic services and landmarks, such as restaurants, shopping centres and the beautiful Town Hall. The town is a beautifully landscaped commune, attracting many thousands of visitors a year. One of the most alluring sites is the Regional Motorcar Museum, which is found in the northeastern region of the town. Another site to see is the Museum of Printing. Walking is popular within the town, as there are numerous long, medium and short routes that have been set up by the local council.
