The town of Carvoeiro in the Algarve region of Portugal is known by many visitors as Praia de Carvoeiro though name officially changed some time ago. This former fishing village has developed into one of the main tourist centres and there are now numerous resorts and hotels in Carvoeiro. There are several great beaches here and they tend to be well sheltered by the cliffs that protect them.
