Introduction to Almancil, Portugal
The small town of Almancil on the south coast of Portugal is located in a beautiful part of the Algarve. The town is close to many glorious beaches and quaint old fishing villages which have led to the building of several hotels in Almancil and along the adjoining coastline. The Algarve has a year round warm climate making the region popular with tourists from the UK and the restaurants and hotels in Almancil generally have a range on English and Portuguese dishes on their menus. In the town itself there are not many attractions but there is a fantastic example of local architecture to be found at the church of Sao Lourenco with its ceramic tiles interior. The most popular way of getting to the Almancil hotels and resorts is by plane to nearby Faro airport.
