Introduction to Warsaw - Stara Praga
Stara Praga is one of Warsaw's most historic areas. It can be found on the eastern bank of the Vistula River, just opposite of the city's Old Town. With a history dating back to the 14th century, Stara Praga makes for a fulfilling holiday for history and architecture buffs. However, it is fast becoming a trendy district, so lifestylers will enjoy a few days here, too. Old abandoned factories now house art galleries and studios, and Stara Praga is now one of the most fashionable and most arty areas in the city. The famed Zabkowska Street plays host to a large street festival every September. Praski Park is a great place for an afternoon stroll. It is an ideal venue for families as it houses a playground and plenty of ice cream stands, and is right next to the famous Warsaw Zoo. There is a great selection of Stara Praga hotels that are only minutes away from Warsaw's main attractions, including Zamek Krolewski (Royal Castle) and the National Museum.
