Introduction to Warsaw - Mokotow
Mokotow is a dzielnica (borough or district) in the Polish capital of Warsaw, and is heavily populated. Several embassies and firms headquarter themselves in the area. There is some industry in town at Sluzewiec Przemyslowy, as well as several public parks. Highlights include the National Library of Poland (Biblioteka Narodowa), Szuster Palace, the Monument to the Victims of Communist Terror 1944-1956, St Katherine Church and Krolikarnia ul Pulawska, a palace that is part of the National Museum. Many visitors also enjoy mixing with locals to hear a performance at the Warsaw Music Society (Warszawskie Towarzystwo Muzyczne). Shopping for local goods is fun to do at the big but uncrowded Galeria Mokotow or relax at the Sadyba Best Mallsinska mall, which boasts a movie theatre, a food court and a bowling alley. Mokotow hotels are sprinkled liberally throughout the area, which is special for having escaped the destruction that visited many other districts of Warsaw during WWII.Visit our Warsaw Travel Guide
