Introduction to Olsztyn, Poland
A historic town in the north of Poland, Olsztyn is the capital of the Warmia-Masuria region. The town was established in 1346 in a clearing in the Warmian forest, and huge forested areas still cover large parts of the town today, making it an excellent combination of historic tourism and nature activities. Hotels in Olsztyn are all within easy reach of various transport options and a wide range of attractions. In town, these include two cinemas and the Puppet Theatre as well as the Stefan Jaracz Theatre. Pride of place is reserved, however, for the beautiful Market Square, in the Old Town. The square is surrounded by notable buildings, such as the 14th century Old Town Hall, and is also home to the famous Fish Market area. The town boasts two castles. One dates from the time of the 14th-century ruler Casimir the Great and lies in ruins, which are well worth visiting not least for the great views over the town and countryside. The other, 'new' Olsztyn Castle is an impressive edifice that today harbours a museum.other spellings: olsztynhotels, olsstyn hotell, osztyn hote, olszty hotles, olszten hotel, olstyn hotes
