Introduction to Katowice, Poland
As the biggest city in the Silesia region of Poland, Katowice provides visitors with culture, modern architecture, interesting sights and makes a great base for exploring the Beskidy Mountains. Although several hotels in Katowice are more conveniently located for taking in the local beauty spot the old town area is best for visitors. Many of the better Katowice hotels are close to the theatres, museums and modern architectural delights that attract many visitors to the city. Another great draw is the cultural and musical festivals that are held here throughout the year. These include subjects like theatre, film, comedy, blues, technology and folklore and can result in some of the hotels in Katowice being full. The Market Square in the city is a wonderful place to roam for a few hours with many of the surrounding streets being traffic free.
