Introduction to Kadyny, Poland
The little Polish village of Kadyny enjoys an illustrious history that dates back at least 1,000 years and has seen the shifting fortunes deliver rule under ancient Prussian tribes, Teutons, modern Prussia and Germany. The village has long been famous for the production of Trakehner horses and was once home to a ceramics factory, the majolica products of which can be found throughout Europe. The red-brick factory can still be seen in the village. Just 600 people live in the village, making stays at hotels in Kadyny a great opportunity to relax. The village offers superb access to a range of attractions in the region. The pretty village palace, once the summer home of Emperor Wilhelm II, is today a country club. A vast forest that lies just a few minutes to the south is popular with hikers and climbers.
