Introduction to Gdansk - Suchanino
Suchanino is a western suburb of the Polish city of Gdansk. Primarily a residential area, the suburb has only a few Suchanino hotels to choose from, most of which are located along the Franciszka Schuberta road. This area is a good place from which to explore the city of Gdansk. The city centre can easily be reached by bus and the famous shopping district of Wrzeszcz is only a short distance away. An ideal place to start a tour is the main History Museum and Archaeological Museum. The city's history is steeped in the shipping industry and impact from WWII. Visiting the historic port area is a must as well as exploring the SS Soldek that is docked there. Much of the city was destroyed during WWII; however, much of it has been re-built. A must-see are the Dutch-style buildings in the city centre. There are also plenty of churches to explore, with St Mary's the world's largest brick church. The coastal resort of Sopot is just 12kms to the northwest.
