Palawan Travel Guide - Getting There
The number of jeepneys and buses in Palawan is not enough even for locals, so they tend to be overloaded. Avoid them unless absolutely necessary. If you feel like driving, you can rent a car in Puerto Princesa. If you want to go island hopping, rent a private Philippine pumpboat or wait for public pumpboats, which offer regular services (usually every hour).
By air: Puerto Princesa can be easily reached from Manila by air with a journey lasting just over one hour. Philippine Airlines flies passengers directly from Manila to Palawan. Smaller airlines like Air Philippines, Soriano Air, Sea Air, and Asian Spirit offer charter flights to nearby islands such as El Nido, Curon, Cuyo, or Busuanga.
