Manila Travel Guide - Things To Do

Walking tours: walking tours are an excellent way to familiarise yourself with Manila as they allow time to admire its parks, monuments, and historic buildings. Intramuros is a popular site for walking tours, with half-day and full-day tours offered regularly to tourists.
There are morning and afternoon tours available as well as hotel transfers and pick-ups. Individual guides can also take you through a larger area, including: Binondo, Escolta, Quiapo, the north side of the Pasig River and even the flea markets on the border of nearby Makati.
The nearest theme park is Star City in Pasay, located south of Manila. Star City offers four roller coasters as well as several water rides and is especially popular among families and children.
Beaches: there are no beaches in Manila, but there are several good ones just a short drive away. The Matabungkay Beach in Batangas is said to be the finest beach within reach of the city. A little further on is Puerto Galera, a white sand beach that rivals the legendary Boracay Island.
If you prefer a more natural environment, you can head over to Baywalk or any of the parks for a run. The best time to do this is in the early morning, as the air is much cooler and the streets are less crowded. Manila's parks and open spaces make great spots for long strolls or brisk walks.
Golf: is often regarded as a sport for the wealthy and many of the best golf courses in the centre of Manila are usually private. However, there are some good public courses nearby, particularly in Quezon City.
