Manila Travel Guide - Getting There

By road: travel to Manila is provided mainly by passenger buses. Terminals are scattered throughout the city as there is no central bus station. Buses headed for nearby provinces can be boarded at the terminals and sometimes even hailed from bus stops, while those going on long-haul trips to southern Luzon can be pre-booked from information centres and terminals.
By air: flying into Manila is the most common way to arrive if you are travelling from other countries. The Ninoy Aquino International Airport is the main international gateway, serving a wide range of airlines from mainly Asian countries, although there are routes to and from limited American and European destinations.
By ferry: a cheaper alternative to air travel, ferry services connect Manila to provinces outside of Luzon. International ferries are mostly limited to Malaysia and a few neighbouring countries. Manila's ferry port connects to ports in Cebu, Zamboanga, and Davao.
By rail: services run within Metro Manila and link Manila to Quezon City, Makati, Caloocan and other major cities.
