Road: jeepneys are the most popular form of public transportation in Manila. They run at fixed routes around the city, with the major stops usually displayed at the side of the vehicles. Transport on secondary roads and in residential areas is mostly limited to tricycles.
Metro: there are two rail services running through Manila: the Metro Rail Transit (MRT), also known as the Metrostar, and the Light Rail Transit (LRT). The MRT is a single line with 16 stops, starting at Taft Avenue in Manila, running through Makati and Quezon City, and ending at the Monumento in Caloocan.
Ferry: services in Manila usually cross the Manila Bay and connect to nearby provinces and small islands. Bataan and Corregidor are popular destinations.
Taxi: taxis usually line up outside public places such as shopping centres, airports and hotels. It is also possible to hail a taxi from the street although some areas are strict about loading and unloading.
