Rizal Park: just outside the walls of Intramuros lies this enormous park which is dominated by a towering monument. It marks the spot where the Philippines' national hero was killed over one hundred years ago. The park overlooks the Manila Bay and features a number of historical markers, gardens, an open concert hall, an observatory and a grand stadium.
Fort Santiago: this sprawling complex was the home of Rajah Sulayman, the last Filipino ruler before the Spanish occupation in the 16th century. One of the oldest sites in Intramuros, Fort Santiago is celebrated both for its historic value and natural beauty with flower gardens, old fortresses, horse-drawn carriages and a real dungeon among its main attractions.
Malacanang Palace: the magnificent Malacanang Palace lies on the north bank of the Pasig River and has been the official residence of the Philippine President since 1863. Although heavily guarded for most of the year, the palace features an open wing containing the Philippine Presidential Museum showcasing memorabilia from past administrations.
Plaza San Luis: located inside Intramuros, the Plaza San Luis is a cluster of five Spanish houses representing various phases of Filipino-Hispanic architecture. The five houses are the Los Hidalgos, El Hogar Filipino, Casa Manila, Casa Blanca, and Casa Urdaneta.
