The city is blessed with warm and friendly people, abundant natural resources and a rich culture, history, and tradition. This helps to make it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
The Banana Plantation: is located in the mainland of Panabo and Carmen. Visitors can observe the actual operation of a banana plantation and also get a taste of freshly plucked bananas. Davao is also home to many other fruit plantations since agriculture is one of its sources of livelihood.
Mount Apo: is the Philippines' highest peak and nature lovers will undoubtedly enjoy climbing to the top to wonder at the views below. Mount Apo is actually an inactive volcano, without any recorded eruptions. Waterfalls, lakes, primeval trees and endangered plants and animals can be seen in the stunning nature reserve below.
The Philippine Eagle Nature Centre: can be found in Calinan. It aims to protect and take care of the endangered Philippine Eagle, formerly known as the Monkey-eating eagle. From Davao City, the sanctuary can be accessed by visiting the Bankerohan Public Market where tricycles and jeepneys to Calinan are available.
The Davao Museum: is located within the Davao Insular Village. It showcases the region’s unique and colourful heritage through its crafts, tribal arts, weapons, costumes, musical instruments and other artefacts from the highland tribes.
The Cultural Communities: can be found on each side of the capital and should be a first stop on all visitors’ itineraries. The Mansaka Community can be found at Maragusan Valley, which is 76kms east of Tagum.
