Bohol Travel Guide - Getting There
The Bohol Sea separates Bohol from Mindanao in the south, while the Camotes Sea separates it from the Camotes Island in the north. Because it is located at the exact centre of the Philippines, the island is conveniently accessible by plane and by boat.
By air: tourists arrive at the Tagbilaran City Airport that serves all domestic flights to and from Bohol. Getting to Bohol by plane takes about an hour and 15 minutes from Manila and around 25 minutes from Cebu. There are no direct international flights to Bohol. Foreign tourists can either fly directly to Manila or Cebu first before taking another flight to the island.
By boat: boats to Bohol from Manila are available, and the trip usually takes 25 hours. To save time, tourists can fly directly to Cebu and take the boat to Bohol.
From Cebu, a fast boat can take tourists to Tagbilaran in one hour and 20 minutes, while a regular boat ride usually takes four hours. It is also possible to travel by boat from Cebu to Tubigon, which is on the west coast, or Talibon, which is on the north coast of the island.
