Introduction to Meycauayan, Philippines
Meycauayan, a bustling city of about 200,000 people, is located along the southern border of the province of Bulacan. The city sits astride the MacArthur Highway and the North Luzon Expressway, a few kilometres inland from Manila Bay. Several towns are located next door, including Marilao, Valenzuela City, Caloocan and Obando. Hotels in Meycauayan are conveniently located for access to both Manila and many of the region's biggest attractions. Railway stations, either at Valenzuela or Marilao, are only a few minutes away, as is a bus depot at Meycauayan Camalig. There are many industrial complexes in the city, which is famous for the production of leather and jewellery. The impressive Church of Saint Francis of Assisi dates from 1668. The old parts of the city are rather ramshackle and rundown with narrow roads, but they're energetic and colourful. Unfortunately, the local river is polluted. The closest major outdoors destination, the vast La Mesa Reservoir, is about 15kms to the east. It offers a large lake, a huge forested area and an ecopark. Manila's international airport is about 30kms to the south.other spellings: meycauayanhotels, maycauayan otel, meycauaian hotell, hote in meycuayan
