Introduction to Ilocos Norte - Laoag City
Laog is situated in Ilococ Norte Province, which is in the Philippines. It is the capital of the province and is a centre for political, commercial and industrial activities. The boundaries of the capital are formed by the municipalities of San Nicolas, Sarrat and Bacarra. From November until April it is dry season, and wet season falls between May to October. Tourism has grown over recent years and investors have put money into this sector of the economy. In the city, you can see Spanish colonial buildings and other attractions including Baroque religious sites. Sites include the Laog City arch, a large church situated in the city centre and Laog City Hall. Visitors can reach Laog City hotels with a horse-drawn carriage or motorised jeepney. To access the city, you can fly into Laog International Airport, which is serviced by Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific who provide international charter flights.
