Davao is strategically located in the Asia-Pacific rim and is the gateway to Mindanao in the Philippines. It is one of the largest cities in the world, with a population of over one million and a land area of 244,000 hectares. The indigenous tribes of the Manobo, Bagobo, Bilaan and Mandaya can be found in Davao. The Kaputian’s Talicud Caves are where giant pythons are said to live. The caves are also believed to have an underground passage that crosses from Davao Gulf to Malalag. They are extremely popular with tourists due to their age and historical relevance, in ancient times they were used as a burial area for the people in the Kalagan and Isamal tribes.
