Introduction to Agusan del Norte, Philippines
Located in the northeast of the Philippine island of Mindanao, Agusan del Norte is a major farming region, producing more rice than any other province in the country. The province is also home to a staggering array of incredible natural attractions. Cadadbaran City, the capital, is home to stunning beaches. Other communities blessed with beautiful sandy coastlines include Carmen, Buenavista and Nasipit. Stunning, richly-forested mountains also abound, the most notable perhaps being Mount Hilong-Hilong, home to seven alpine springs and 18 waterfalls. There are dozens of famous caves to explore across Agusan del Norte. Of the many rivers and three big lakes here, the best-known is Lake Mainit. The fourth-biggest lake in the country, this is the best place to enjoy inland swimming, fishing, windsurfing and boating. For diving, snorkelling and other oceanic pursuits, the wide expanse of Butuan Bay is hard to beat - at least 19 great dive sites can be found here. If it's raining, the region's rich cultural and historical heritage can be explored indoors at one of the many museums. Hotels in Agusan del Norte can be reached by sea or daily flights from Manila.other spellings: agusannorte otel, agusan dal norte hotell, agusan del north hote, agusan del hotes
