Resting on the shore of Lake Titicaca is the area’s largest city, Puno. Situated in the southeastern region of Peru, Puno attracts thousands of visitors each year. However, these tourists may come to catch a glimpse of the largest and highest lake in South America, but they stay for the excitement and fascination of the city’s culture and history. Puno boasts several cathedrals that were built by the Spanish during colonisation, which are now popular tourist landmarks.
