Introduction to Machu Picchu, Peru
Perched aloft a mountain ridge, over 2,000 metres above sea level is Machu Picchu. Commonly referred to as the lost city of the Inca civilisation, Machu Picchu is located in the Machu Picchu Historical Sanctuary, about 50 km from the town of Cuzco, Peru. In 1983, the region became a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but has recently seen environmental concerns as a result of increased tourism. Nevertheless, this ancient wonder is undoubtedly the most famous attraction in Peru. Hotels in Machu Picchu are limited. However, guests are provided with several comfortable options, boasting excellent service, relaxing amenities and an unsurpassed location to the areas main attraction. Although there are a greater variety of accommodations in the surrounding townships, like Cuzco, the properties are closer to the famous Inca site. Therefore, tours to the world renowned landmark are easily arranged in the lodgings. The Temple of the Sun and Room of Three Windows are popular highlights of the lost city.other spellings: machupicchu hotels, machu pichu otel, macu picchu hotes, hotell machupicchu
