Introduction to Machu Picchu - Beach
Machu Picchu is located in south-central Peru, near an ancient Inca settlement which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is estimated that the simply incredible Machu Picchu complex was built in the mid-14th century. The thick stone walls, made up of huge rocks and with no mortar, are still standing straight today. It boggles the mind how the Inca built this settlement so high up in the mountains, with many theories on how the rocks were brought here. The more adventurous visitors can trek up to the top to enjoy the breathtaking views while the less fit can take a bus to the entrance. The many buildings and temples are incredible, and the best view of the entire complex can be had from the top of the Wayna Picchu. The most amazing edifice is probably the Intihatana, or sun clock. Most visitors come to this site on a daytrip but there are some Machu Picchu Beach hotels in the foothills to accommodate those who wish to stay close by. other spellings: machupicchu hotels bech, machu pichu otel bech, macu picchu hotes bech
