Introduction to Lima - Miraflores
Miraflores is an upscale district in Peru's capital, Lima. Situated in the southern end of the capital, this trendy neighbourhood has excellent restaurants and nightlife. One of the city's most important ancient sites is here, Huaca Pucllana, a historic park with restored structures, a museum and a crafts centre. Park of the Reserve is another landmark of Miraflores, famous around Latin America for its incredible fountain display. For modern shopping, you can't do better than Larcomar, a massive mall atop a hill overlooking the city and the sea. You won't find any traditional markets here, so head downtown for the more authentic Peruvian attractions. The dining scene in the district is particularly good, with an extensive array of traditional and international restaurants. The drinking scene is also lively, with a few tourist-centred streets lined with bars.
