The Peruvian town of Ica is where the local Pisco brandy is produced. There are many local bars where you can enjoy the local cocktail, the Pisco Sour. It is an important agricultural region and here you will find locally produced grapes, asparagus, olives and cotton. There are many hotels in Ica to choose from and the town makes a great base for exploring the nearby vineyards, sand dunes, the world famous Nasca Lines and the Ballesteros Islands. Close to the properties is the oasis of Huacachina where you go sand boarding or take a jeep safari through the sand dunes, probably a good idea to have lunch after not before taking part in the jeep tour. The town is located on the Pan-AmerIcan Highway and is about a four hour journey from Lima by bus. The establishments can organise a pick up from the bus station.
