Cheap Colca Peru Hotels

The picturesque Colca region in Peru is an area filled with pretty mountain villages in a deep canyon setting known as the Colca Canyon. The canyon is said to be twice as large as the Grand Canyon and it’s a wonderful place to go trekking or meet indigenous Peruvian people. There are many small hotels in Colca located in the mountain villages such as Chivay and Cabanaconde. Apart from trekking in amazing mountain scenery, most visitors come to the Colca region to experience the incredible Andean condors. The sight of these impressive birds at close range is wonderful. Early morning is the best time to witness the flight of the condor. Staying in one of Colca hotels is a great way to meet the local Quechan people, try local cuisine and wander around the local markets. Many of the hotels in Colca keep llamas and alpacas as pets, they may look cute but don’t get too close, they love to spit.
