Introduction to Salalah - Beach
Salalah is southern Oman's capital and is considered to be the sultanate's second city. The busiest time here for tourism is from the start of June to the beginning of September, when Oman experiences its monsoon season. This enables visitors to escape the intense heat experienced in other parts of the Middle East at this time. Many visitors choose to stay on the coast, where a number of Salalah Beach hotels are located. These establishments tend to cater to the luxury traveller, offering excellent views of the sea and the pristine white beaches. Despite the beach's beauty, there are better places for swimming nearby. Those visitors that do decide to swim here should be aware of the strong currents and steep descent. However, the beach offers easy access to the city centre, with plenty of taxis available to ferry guests to the historical attractions.
