Introduction to Muscat - Barr Al Jissah
Jutting out into the tranquil, warm waters of the Gulf of Oman, Barr Al-Jissah is a stunning coastal resort of rugged seaside cliffs encircling a bay of man-made sandy beaches that get scorching hot in the summer and only slightly less warm during the cooler period in December and January. Much of the surrounding area is desert interspersed with unusual and often dramatic volcanic rock formations, while Barr Al-Jissah itself is an oasis of relaxation with its idyllic scenery, spas and restaurants right by the sea. Barr Al-Jissah hotels are all high-end, meaning that this region of the Sultanate of Oman is not well-equipped for visitors travelling on a tight budget, most of which usually decide to stay in the centre of the capital.
