Introduction to Ibra, Oman
Ibra is found in northeast Oman, on the outskirts of the Wahiba Sands, on the route from Nizwa to Sur. As one of the oldest cities in Oman, it has a deeply rooted history of trade, religion, art and education. Completely surrounded by mountains, Ibra hotels stand between ancient castles and mosques. Since 1970, the city has been gaining fame as a pleasant tourist destination for those looking for an authentic Bedouin atmosphere. A number of beautiful old watchtowers are dotted throughout the city, and the cascading Falaj Al Afrit remains one of the highlights.
