Kongsberg: is a beautiful place that is famous throughout Norway for its history in silver mining. It’s located about one hour west of Oslo and can be reached by bus or train. This is the site of the Kongsberg International Jazz Festival, held each year in early July.
Fredrikstad: is an old walled town not far from Oslo, popular with visitors as it boasts a host of activity on its streets in the summer. Trains run from Oslo about every hour and express buses make the trip approximately 10 times every day.
Drobak: is another picturesque seaside town, typical of the coast of southern Norway. This is the closest one to Oslo and a lovely place to escape the crowds of the city. Buses run hourly from Oslo.
Fjords: Fjord tours are operated from Oslo all year and run from one to three days. Tours to Flam and the fjords are scheduled during the summer only. Tours to Alesund and the Geirangerfjord can include travel by air and also by costal voyager.
