Introduction to Stavanger, Norway
The city of Stravanger is a destination in Norway that can be visited at any time of the year with activities that change with the seasons. Accommodation is well spread in this large city with budget priced Stravanger hotels located away from the centre. The local landscape is beautiful and lends itself to hiking and climbing throughout the year. In winter, once the government has tested the ice and given approval, the biggest lake in the area, Stokkavannet, becomes one huge ice skating rink. Nearby Sola Beach is busy in the summer with swimmers and sunbathers. Ask at the hotels in Stravanger for directions to some of the smaller beaches as they can be difficult to find. The centre of the city is compact and easy to see on foot from Stravangar hotels situated here.
