Introduction to Mosjoen, Norway
Two rivers called Skjerva and Vefsna flow into the Vefsnfjord, close to the Norwegian town of Mosjoen, in a valley called Vefsn. Most Mosjoen hotels can be found near the water and have wonderful views of an 814m mountain called oyfjellet. This mountain, one of the best known local natural landmarks, is situated west of Mosjoen. Only one other town in Nordland, Norway's northernmost region, is older than this one, which lies just 10kms south of the Arctic Circle and whose relatively mild climate is said to resemble that of Juneau, Alaska. Some of northern Norway's oldest traditional wooden homes and buildings can be found along the town's oldest quarter, especially the street closest to the Vefsnfjord. Unique art galleries and cafes are located inside many of these wooden buildings. No river in Nordland has a greater flow of water than Vefsna River, whose banks are filled with green forests, hills and mountains. other spellings: mosjoen otel, mosjoan hotell, mosjoin hote, mostjoenhotels, mosjoen hotle
