Introduction to Lillehammer - City Centre
Immortalised by the 1994 Winter Olympic Games, the town of Lillehammer, Norway remains one of the country's prime tourist destinations, not only for skiing and hiking, but also for its scenic 19th century traditional wooden houses that are typical of the Gudbrandsdal region. These structures sit at the centre of the town, which is set against a phenomenally scenic backdrop composed of the surrounding mountains and the beautiful Lake Mjosa as well as a number of modern structures and numerous Lillehammer City Centre hotels. In addition to a wide range of outdoor activities on offer, including skiing, canoeing, hiking, snowshoeing, trekking, horseback riding, fishing and biking, the town boasts a small range of traditional attractions such as museums and historical sites. Among them, the Norwegian Olympic Museum is a must-see and features exhibits, timelines and artefacts covering the entire history of the games, from ancient Greek times up until today. There's also contemporary art on display at the Lillehammer Art Museum, while the open-air Maihaugen Museum offers a glimpse of the area's wooden houses as well as a 13th century church and several other buildings.other spellings: lillehammer city otel, lilehamer hotell center, lille hammer hote center, hotle lilehammer
