Introduction to Kinsarvik, Norway
The Norwegian village of Kinsarvik may have a small population, but its location near two scenic fjords called Eidfjorden and Sorfjorden boasts several attractions. This village's name means the 'Bay of Kinso' in English, while the name of the nearby Kinso River is a loose translation of 'Steep Mountainside'. The Kinso River drops dramatically from nearly 1,100m from the magnificent Hardangervidda mountain plateau to sea level at the fjord closest to the village limits. Hardangervidda is also the name of Norway's biggest national park, a popular destination for guests staying at Kinsarvik hotels. Kinsarvik is home to one of Norway's oldest churches built from stone, first constructed in 1160, and a flatware factory called Hardanger Bestikk which has manufactured flatware patterns inspired by ancient Viking designs since 1958. A popular hiking trail takes visitors to four impressive waterfalls within four to six hours of walking. These waterfalls, from smallest to tallest, are named Nykkjesoyfossen, Tveitafossen, Nyastolfossen and Sotefossen. other spellings: kinsarvik otel, kinsarvik hotell, kinsarik hote, kinsarvikhotels, kinsavic hotle
