Introduction to Hornindal, Norway
The community of Hornindal, Norway is situated close to northern Europe's deepest lake, known as Hornindalsvatnet, on the northern boundary of Sogn og Fjordane County. Most Hornindal hotels overlook both the Hornindalsvatnet and its surrounding mountains. The highest of these peaks are the 903m Middagsfjellet, the 1,304m Gulkoppen and the 1,495m Hornindalsrokken. It takes roughly two hours to walk the marked paths along Gulkoppen and Middagsfjellet mountains, and approximately three hours to walk the steeper trail along Hornindalsrokken. Not only is Hornindalsvatnet northern Europe's deepest lake with a maximum depth of 514m, it is also among Europe's clearest and cleanest lake because it receives no water from any surrounding glaciers. Anders Svor Museum includes 450 works of art by one of Hornindal's most famous residents. Obtaining local permits entitles visitors to fish in any of the over 500 rivers and lakes throughout this scenic area that is especially famous for its deep and large fjord lakes filled with char and trout.other spellings: hornindal otel, hornidal hotell, hornindal hote, hornindalhotels, hornindal hotle
