Introduction to Bronnoysund, Norway
Bronnoysund is a coastal community situated in the middle of southwest Norway's lengthy coastline, in the southern part of the county of Nordland. Most Bronnoysund hotels are located near either its Hurtigruten Ferry Terminal or its airport, the world's first to use satellites to help land passenger flights. The community's original population was wiped out during the 1240 Norwegian civil war, and was replaced by residents of Sweden and people from other parts of Norway. The dialect spoken by today's Bronnoysund residents is said to sound much like Swedish. The Musikkorps wind band, a mixed choir called Kor i Oyan, and an all male choir named Mannskor are the community's main cultural institutions. The intricate WWII German coastal fortress of Skarsasen lies just five kilometres northeast of the community, while the majestic Mount Torghatten is no fewer than 15kms away. Sea erosion created a 160m long and 35m high hole through Mount Torghatten, whose width is between 15 and 20m.other spellings: bronnoysond otel, bonnoysund hotell, bronysund hote, bronnoysoundhotels
