Introduction to Beitostolen, Norway
The popular Norwegian ski resort of Beitostolen is situated a four-hour drive away from both Oslo and Bergen. This small mountain village is located to the south of a national park called Jotunheimen, in the middle of southern Norway. Two major Beitostolen hotels boast a combined total of 2,000 beds, while there are plenty of private cabins and apartments visitors can rent. Those who purchase a Beitostolen may visit not only the main ski centre in the heart of the village, but also the Raudalen Alpine Centre's more challenging slopes, which can easily be reached by bus across the valley. Children under seven years of age who wear helmets may not only ski for free, but also take classes at the resort ski school or enjoy themselves at the children's play land. Children between six and 12 can snowmobile in a specialised field.
