Encompassing about the same area as Wales; Northern Ireland occupies the northeast of Ireland and remains a dual-governed UK home nation. Northern Ireland has seen an enormous amount of bloodshed in past decades, but thankfully the Good Friday Peace Agreement has contributed to making it a fine holiday destination today.
