Belfast Travel Guide
The city is home to many famous and historic pubs and the best option is to wander through the streets until you find somewhere you like. Alternatively, during the summer months you can join the Bailey’s Historical Pub Walking Tour to discover some of the city's top watering holes.
Belfast has always had a strong pub culture and with the recent investments, there are more and more trendy bars springing up in the city centre.
Those interested in theatre and the arts have several good venues to choose from. The recently renovated Grand Opera House is one of Belfast's most prestigious venues, offering a programme of live theatrical performances and entertainment throughout the year, including drama, musicals, ballet, opera, comedy and pantomime.
There are also regular touring shows from London's West End. The Lyric Theatre on Ridgeway street is Northern Ireland's most famous repertory theatre and has classical and contemporary plays with a particular emphasis on Irish productions.
For traditional music, try Robinson’s Bar on Great Victoria street, where there’s live music every day. Kelly’s Cellars is one of the oldest bars in the city and has live music at the weekends.
