Castle Ward: is a mid-Georgian mansion situated on the southern shores of Strangford Lough, 45 minutes from Belfast. The house is a mixture of gothic and classical styles and has been the home of the Ward family since the 16th century. The 820-acre grounds also contain a working corn mill, a saw mill and a children’s adventure play area.
Rowallane Garden: comprises of 52 acres of beautiful gardens that were originally laid out in the 1860s. It is well known for its wonderful collection of trees, shrubs and plants that burst into colour during the spring months.
Mount Stewart: is one of Northern Ireland's most popular National Trust properties. It is the former home of Charles William Vane, Marquis of Londonderry. He was one of the richest men in the United Kingdom and frequently brought back works of art and furniture on his regular travels.
Among the most prominent items are the 22 chairs used at the Congress of Vienna, and a George Stubbs painting that was voted one of Britain's 100 Greatest Works of Art. The house is a long and low classical building that has some fine views across Strangford Lough. It is easily reached from Belfast in about 30 minutes.
Saint Patrick Centre: is a new and fascinating interactive experience which tells the story of Ireland’s patron saint. It is the first time that St Patrick's story has been presented as a permanent exhibition anywhere in Ireland and is appropriately located in Downpatrick, just below the cathedral and the saint's grave. The centre retells the story of St Patrick using life-size exhibits and multimedia in a factual and accurate way. There is an impressive film presentation at the end of the tour.
