Introduction to Fermanagh - Enniskillen
Fermanagh Enniskillen is located in Northern Ireland and is famous for being right between the upper and lower parts of Loch Erne. Most visitors head here to explore Loch Erne and its surrounding countryside. Fermanagh hotels are perfectly placed for those who want to look around and really get to know this attractive and welcoming town. One landmark worth visiting is the town’s first castle. It was built in the 15th century by Hugh Maguire but was later rebuilt by William Cole when he captured it. Cole built a whole new town around the castle in 1611, and much of his personal architectural style is still very evident today. St Macartan’s Cathedral is also a popular tourist draw as one of the most imposing buildings in Fermanagh Enniskillen.
