Getting Around

Getting Around Christchurch
Bus: Christchurch has an extensive public bus network, with a number of different bus companies operating services. The city provides a free shuttle service with bright yellow buses which travel on a circuit every ten minutes taking in the Casino, Town Hall, Victoria Square, Cathedral Square, City Mall, South City, Smiths City, and Hoyts 8 on Moorehouse Avenue.
The Red Bus offers an ‘Explore Christchurch’ day pass which allows you to hop on and off as you like. They also operate the Midnight Express a late night bus service.
Taxi: there are taxi stands dotted around the city and at all transport hubs with a number of different companies operating here.
Bicycle: Christchurch is generally a flat city and so getting around by bicycle is a viable option and pleasant way to see the sights. Cycling is popular here and as a result, there are a number of designated cycle lanes on the roads.
