January Festivals
Auckland Harbour Festival: held annually at the end of January, this event sees Auckland’s citizens celebrating the official birthday of their city with a three-day extravaganza based at the harbour. A variety of water-based events take place which include the famous Auckland Regatta.
March Festivals
Auckland Festival: held biennially in March, the Auckland Festival is an event that showcases the city’s arts and cultural strengths with exhibitions and live performances in a wide variety of genres.
April Festivals
Auckland Wine and Food Festival: held in April at Viaduct Harbour, the Auckland Wine and Food Festival offers visitors the chance to sample some of the fine gastronomic creations available in the region. Some 40 stalls are on offer with free tastings available at many.
Anzac Day Parades and Ceremonies: observed on the 25 April, this is for the citizens of New Zealand to remember the day in 1915 when troops headed into battle at Gallipoli. The memory of those who died is honored with parades and ceremonies in Auckland and cities across the country.
