The resort town of Wanaka is on the southern shores of Lake Wanaka. Lake Wanaka, near the bottom end of New Zealand’s South Island, is the entry point for Mount Aspiring National Park. Wanaka’s environs offer year round outdoor sporting opportunities and there are a profusion of hotels in Wanaka providing services for visitors.
