Taupo, in New Zealand, is close to the River Waikato’s famous Huka Falls and the dormant volcano, Mount Tauhara. The volcanic mountains in Tongariro National Park are visible from Taupo. There are also several hot springs in the locality of Taupo, which offer bathing in rejuvenating waters. Taupo hotels make a good base from which to reach these attractions.
