Introduction to Rotorua - Victoria
Victoria is a small suburb located in the southern part of the city of Rotorua. Located close to the northern coast of New Zealand, Rotorua is nestled around the lake of the same name and is famous for its geothermal activity. Victoria hotels are a plenty and are mostly located between Amohau Street and Malfroy Road. The first stop on any visitor's itinerary should be the Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland. Here, visitors can see a vast array of geothermal activity, including an active volcano, a boiling water pool and the famous Lady Knox Geyser. Those visiting the park with small children should be very careful not to step off the marked path. If you want to see more geothermal activity, then head to the Waimangu Volcanic Valley. A guided tour is well worth it to see all the geothermal features. The large Rotorua Lake and the nearby Lake Tikitapu, or Blue Lake, are also must-visits. Visiting a Maori meeting house is another must, with one situated on the grounds of the Museum of Art and History. Visit our Rotorua Travel Guide
