Blenheim is a popular tourist destination in the northeast corner of New Zealand’s South Island. Visitors to the town use hotels in Blenheim as a base for partaking in the water sports activities offered by the nearby Cloudy Bay, which is part of the Marlborough Sounds. A lot of the Blenheim hotels are grouped around the Queen Street and High Street area of the town. Other accommodation options in Blenheim are B&Bs, backpacker’s hostels and caravan parks. Farm stays are available in the countryside around Blenheim. The town centre contains a plethora of bars, cafes and restaurants all within walking distance of Blenheim hotels. Blenheim’s restaurants offer both local and ethnic cuisines. Blenheim is noted for its wine production. The Marlborough Sounds offer a chance of swimming with dolphins, while at Kaikoura, 100kms south of Blenheim, whales are often visible. Blenheim hotels offer a good base for daytrips as well as hikes through the bush and along the coast.
