The Auckland City Hotel Hobson Street is located in the business district, only 1 km from the Auckland Convention Centre. This property is around a 5 - 10 minute walk from the Queen Street shopping area, Sky City Complex and Tower, Opera House as well as a good selection of restaurants. Positioned on a slight hill, this hotel is only 5 minutes drive from Auckland Harbour Bridge, the bus terminal and waterfront area. The Auckland City Hotel Hobson Street offers accommodation that has modern facilities and good size beds. Standard rooms do not have a kitchenette. All other room types do have a kitchenette.

The standard rooms are medium in size and are very new as the hotel opened in April 2008. There is a mixture of configurations twin single beds or Queen size double bed. Triple configuration is based on 2 single beds and a roll away. Complimentary tea and coffee facilities, in room safe and LCD TV's are standard. The bathroom is nicely decorated but is small with shower only, no bathtub.

The exterior of the hotel is a neo classical building but the accommodation is all in a modern tower adjoined.
