The months of May through until early September are the best times to visit, with July and August having the hottest weather and June likely the best choice of all. The weather is pleasantly warm, there are fewer visitors and there are better rates on accommodation.

The weather can still be quite variable, however, throughout the summer, as sudden showers blow in from the North Sea. You’ll see locals carrying umbrellas even on the hottest days in July, as morning rains can be a factor before the sun arrives later on in the day.
