Introduction to The Hague - Zoetermeer
The city of Zoetermeer is home to just over 120,000 inhabitants and located around 20kms from the centre of The Hague, which can be reached by taking the main E30 route. The city has rapidly expanded in the last 50 years, yet it does not feature a large number of tourist attractions. Nevertheless, the Old Church and the Windmill of Hope are both worth checking out. The city has a small museum which tells of its history. Perhaps the most popular attraction in Zoetermeer is SnowWorld, Europe's largest skiing and snowboarding facility. There is a large shopping mall which houses many franchise stores while Dorpsstraat, the oldest district of the city, features a variety of boutiques and speciality shops. The restaurant and bar scene isn't huge, but there are some good Chinese and Indonesian options in and around the town centre. Zoetermeer hotels are mainly located near the E30 or in the centre of the town.
